Mrs. Smelko

Welcome to my website!

Hello and welcome to PAHS! My name is Mrs. Sheena Smelko and I am the assistant principal at the Punxsutawney Area High School for Grades 11 and 12.  I am a 2001 graduate of the DuBois Area High School.  I received a Bachelor's of Science in Secondary Education with a focus in English from Clarion University in 2005.  I also have a Masters of Education in Reading as well as a Masters in Educational Leadership.  I am currently working on acquiring my Doctorate of Education. 

I taught English at Jeff Tech for 13 years prior to coming to the Punxsutawney Elementary School in 2019.  I serve as the K-6 E-Academy Coordinator for the district as well as head up and participate in many other committees and endeavors.  I am most excited about our new student initiative, The Leader in Me Program.  This program encourages our students to become leaders in their own life, educational experience, family, and community. More information will be coming out soon!
