Hello and Welcome!

My name is Mrs. Shayla Jewell and I am the new 9^th and 10^th grade School Counselor at the Punxsutawney Area High School. Even though this is my first year in this role, PAHS is very familiar to me! In 2020 to 2022 I worked as the School Support Therapist. Before that in 2013, I graduated from PAHS! I am excited to be back and cannot wait to see what this year brings!

After graduating from PAHS, I continued on at IUP to earn my Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development and Family Relations. I then earned my Master’s Degree in K-12 School Counseling from Westminster College. My previous experience before coming to Punxsy this year, included both clinical and educational work settings. I have worked as a Family Based Therapist, Inpatient Behavioral Health Therapist, School Support Therapist, and most recently as a Secondary School Counselor at Clearfield Jr. Sr. High School.
