Sophomores will be going on their spirit trip to the Pittsburgh Zoo today.  Sophomores should be in 1st pd. at this time & following the flag salute you will report by HR on an announcement to have your items searched.  Buses will depart at approximately 8:15 & students will return at approximately 2:15 PM.

 

Summer School News:  Behind-the-Wheel:  There will be 2 sessions.  Spots will be filled in the order the forms & payment are received in the office.  In order to take BTW, students must have completed Safety Ed in the classroom.  The nonrefundable cost for the students is $75.00.  Payment must be included with the registration form & is due by Wed., May 21st.  World Cultures for students who are currently a sophomore or junior via our Canvas Cyber summer school will be held June 2-July11 (no class on July 4).  A nonrefundable cost of $75.00 is due with the registration form by Wed., May 21.  Successful Living is available for students who are currently a sophomore or junior via our Canvas Cyber summer school will be held June 2-June 20.  A nonrefundable cost of $75.00 is due with the registration form by Wed., May 21.

 

Congratulations to Coy Martino, who set Punxsy Baseball's all-time strikeout record last night in a 13-0 Chucks win over Bradford. Coy struck out 14 in a 5-inning no-hitter and now has 174 strikeouts in his career, besting the previous record of 172. Well-done Coy!

 

Congratulations to the Boys Tennis Team as they defeated Elk County Catholic to win the AA District 9 Team Tennis Championship.  Team members are:  Ethan Booher, Logan Conner, Adem Kural, Rocco Richardson, Abraao Santos, Dana Smith, Aiden West & Griffin White. 

 

Mr. Cessna’s lessons are cancelled for today.

Do you have a pile of old books & want to free up room for more? The PAHS Ambassadors are collecting used books to sell at the Spring Coffee House on May 19th! If you, or someone you know, has books to donate, please drop them off at any time in Ms. Miller’s room - 126.

 

All high school library books are due by tomorrow.  Please get overdue books returned & lost books paid for.

 

There will be small ensemble rehearsals today during Star periods for the Guards & Knights, Duloc Characters, & Fairy Tale Creatures.  

 

Did you miss seeing Shrek the musical in March?   Were you left in the dark with our cast and crew when the power went out for our last show? Did you see the show & laugh so much you want to see it again?  .Our PAHS Music Theater Club will present an encore performance of Shrek the Musical on Sunday, May 11th at 2:00 in the aud.  Tickets are $10.00 for reserved seats & $7.00 for general & will be on sale today during Star period by the aud. & at the door before Sunday's Show.  We hope to see you there!!!

Student Council will not meet tomorrow.

 

There will be a Spring Assembly tomorrow in the CDMG during star.  The band will report to the bandroom at 8:30, students will report to HR at approximately 8:45 & then will be called to the CDMG.

 

The 7-8 semi formal will be tomorrow at 7:30 in the café. Get ready to dive in & make waves at our 7th & 8th grade semi-formal, Under the Sea. Swim on into the PAHS café. on Fri., May 9th from 7:30 to 10:00 PM. Your underwater journey costs $5 for admission. Please bring exact change. 

 

Seniors – there is a mandatory Graduation Practice on Sat., May 10th beginning at 8:00 at the stadium.  This is considered a day of school.  So if you are unable to attend, please submit an excuse for your absence.  There will be donuts, juice & milk.  Caps & gowns will be distributed at this practice.  Permission slips for Cook Forest, Pittsburgh & Post Graduation Party should have been distributed in HR.  Please return these permission slips on Sat., along with $25.00 (cash or check payable to PAHS).  The permission slips must be signed by your parents, regardless of your age.  Make sure they sign in the area regarding medications as well.  Any questions, see Patti in the office. 

 

The final NJHS meeting of this school year will be held Mon., May 12, during STAR in the library.  All members should plan to attend as new officers will be elected for the upcoming school year. 

 

Any girls in grades 7-11 interested in playing basketball next year need to stop by Mr Carlson's room 203 to pick up important papers.

 

Tri-M will sponsor a Spring Coffeehouse on Mon., May 19th from 6-8 in the courtyard & we are looking for poets & performers.  Please see Mrs Knepper for a  form or use the QR code on the flyers in the halls to sign up to perform....instrumental, vocal, poetry reading - solo or in a group - we'd love to have you join us!  Please sign up by the end of next week.
