Students in Mrs. Kara Leslie's English 8 classes recently had the opportunity to participate in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). Each November, the NaNoWriMo Young Writers Program challenges teens to set a word-count goal to work towards as a creative writing project for 30 days. One of Mrs. Leslie's students, Emily Wisnesky, went above and beyond the goal, writing just over 50,000 words for her novel during the month, a goal that is the standard word count for adults who participate in the challenge. Congratulations to Emily on exceeding this goal!
