PASD represents at RYLA

Last week, students from the Punxsutawney Area High School presented about their summer experience at the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) to the Punxsutawney Rotary Club.

RYLA is an attentive leadership experience organized by Rotary clubs and districts where students develop their skills as leaders while having fun and making connections with student leaders from other schools and communities.

“RYLA was able to show me how important leadership is, from leading others in sports to making an impact on my peers and the community.” Mason Nesbitt commented.

Each year, with the generous support of the Punxsutawney Rotary and community leaders, Punxsutawney Area High School is able to send four to five students to the conference.  Interested students complete a comprehensive application process and are selected based on their demonstration of Rotary’s core values: Service, Fellowship, Diversity, Integrity, and Leadership.
